2021 April's Featured Clubs: Roots & Shoots, Chicas, S.M.I.L.E., Stamping with Kindness
Roots & Shoots is all about helping nature, animals, our community and each other! Mr Graham takes his passion for animals and love of our environment, to introduce his club to many amazing people and projects!
This year the students met Jane Goodall virtually, She is a famous scientist and chimpanzee advocate. Jane read some of her favorite books to the students. They even met a few of her favorite chimpanzees. Making edible necklaces to send to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary was a lot of fun!
Another cool project Roots & Shoots is involved in is called Nana Cardoon. A local learning garden where the students attended many virtual tours around the garden and greenhouse. They learned about worm composting and even received their own seed kits to start growing their own gardens at home ;]
Raising Money for charities was an added bonus. Students raised $185 for the Change Maker Project while recognizing important people in their lives;]
