The district is hosting a Sense of Belonging Summit for families on March 9, 2023 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Neil Armstrong Middle School. The summit is free and dinner, childcare and translation will be provided.
We want to encourage families to attend the Sense of Belonging Summit which will provide some great opportunities to build strong relationships and partnerships with school district staff, community partners, and other parents.
Family engagement has a direct positive impact on a child’s academic and social development and success. This summit will provide a chance to learn more about what students are facing and make some valuable connections. We hope to see you there!

FGSD is actively looking for applicants to apply for the Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee. All meetings of the committee will be open to the public. The Committee will convene quarterly or as needed to review the progress of the Forest Grove School District Bond Measure 34-320. The Committee will be composed of Board members, up to 10 community members and two high school students. Applications for membership through March 7, 2023. Community members with experience in construction, finance, auditing, public budgeting, banking and general business are highly encouraged to apply. Three committee members were appointed on February 27, 2023, additional members will be appointed at the March 13,2023 board meeting. The first meeting will be April 10, 2023 and the committee will discuss set the meeting schedule going forward. For more information and to complete an application please visit the district website. WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH
March is Women’s History Month, a time to recognize the many contributions that women have made to the fabric of American History.
Women’s History Month was first celebrated in 1981 as Women’s History Week but became a month-long observance in 1987. We celebrate to remind ourselves of the accomplishments of women and to reflect on the trailblazing women who led the way for change. Studying the tenacity, courage, and creativity of historic women provides a sense of strength, value, and identifiable role models for all of our students.
This March, we encourage you and your family to plan activities throughout the month that promote learning about unique women who have made tremendous impacts on our history. We also encourage you to learn more about women’s history, accomplishments, and experiences; commemorate women’s stories; and celebrate women’s achievements.
Older students should also take this opportunity to dive a little deeper into the role played by intersectionality. While women from all racial and ethnic backgrounds have contributed significantly to women’s equality, their experiences cannot be equated with one another’s. White women’s history in the U.S. looks different from that of Black women’s history, which is different from that of Latina women, Asian women, American Indian women, and so on. The same is true for women of varying abilities, gender identities, sexualities, etc. Taking the time to examine the circumstances and the context within which important women in history have operated will lead to a richer understanding of where we are today.

This is an opportunity for the community to recognize our classified professionals who are an integral part of the school district team. These individuals are dedicated to serving the students in our district and we want to recognize them for the critical services they provide every day.

Superintendent 360 Evaluation Survey
The Forest Grove School District would like to invite you to participate in the 360-degree
evaluation of Superintendent David Parker. This evaluation is a key part of the Superintendent’s
annual review process—your participation and candid feedback is both important and
appreciated.
The District has hired Coraggio Group to facilitate the evaluation. Coraggio Group worked with the School Board to develop a process that aligns with Oregon School Boards Association’s best practices. That process includes an online survey that will be administered by Coraggio Group. At the end of the evaluation period, they will summarize the results in a report made available to the School Board and Superintendent.
Your responses will be confidential. Coraggio Group will not release any individually identifiable
information to the Superintendent, School Board, or staff at any time.

Folleto informativo sobre el sentido de pertenencia
FGSD está buscando activamente candidatos para postularse para el Comité de Supervisión de Bonos de Ciudadanos. Todas las reuniones del comité estarán abiertas al público. El Comité se reunirá trimestralmente o según sea necesario para revisar el progreso de la Medida de Bonos 34-320 del Distrito Escolar de Forest Grove.
El Comité estará compuesto por miembros de la Junta, hasta 10 miembros de la comunidad y dos estudiantes de secundaria. Solicitudes de membresía hasta el 7 de marzo de 2023. MES DE LA HISTORIA DE LA MUJER
Marzo es el Mes de la Historia de la Mujer, un momento para reconocer las muchas contribuciones que las mujeres han hecho al tejido de la Historia Americana.
El Mes de la Historia de la Mujer se celebró por primera vez en 1981 como la Semana de la Historia de la Mujer, pero se convirtió en una celebración de un mes en 1987. Lo celebramos para recordar los logros de las mujeres y reflexionar sobre las mujeres pioneras que lideraron el camino hacia el cambio. Estudiar la tenacidad, el coraje y la creatividad de mujeres históricas brinda una sensación de fortaleza, valor y modelos a seguir identificables para todos nuestros estudiantes.
Este mes de marzo, los alentamos a usted y a su familia a planificar actividades durante todo el mes que promuevan el aprendizaje sobre mujeres únicas que han tenido un impacto tremendo en nuestra historia. También lo alentamos a aprender más sobre la historia, los logros y las experiencias de las mujeres; conmemorar historias de mujeres; y celebrar los logros de las mujeres.
Los estudiantes mayores también deberían aprovechar esta oportunidad para profundizar un poco más en el papel que juega la interseccionalidad. Si bien las mujeres de todos los orígenes raciales y étnicos han contribuido significativamente a la igualdad de la mujer, sus experiencias no pueden equipararse con las de otras. La historia de las mujeres blancas en los EE. UU. se ve diferente de la historia de las mujeres negras, que es diferente de la de las mujeres latinas, asiáticas, indias americanas, etc. Lo mismo es cierto para las mujeres de diferentes capacidades, identidades de género, sexualidades, etc. Tomarse el tiempo para examinar las circunstancias y el contexto en el que han operado mujeres importantes en la historia conducirá a una comprensión más rica de dónde estamos hoy.
El personal de NAMS trabajará con los estudiantes en lo académico y brindará ayuda con las tareas.

Semana del Empleado Clasificado del 6 al 10 de marzo de 2023
La próxima semana celebramos la Semana del Empleado Clasificado. Esta es una oportunidad para que la comunidad reconozca a nuestros profesionales clasificados que son una parte integral del equipo del distrito escolar. Estas personas están dedicadas a servir a los estudiantes de nuestro distrito y queremos reconocerlos por los servicios críticos que brindan todos los días.
Encuesta de evaluación 360 del superintendente
El Distrito Escolar de Forest Grove quisiera invitarlo a participar en el programa de 360 grados
evaluación del Superintendente David Parker. Esta evaluación es una parte clave de la evaluación del Superintendente
proceso de revisión anual: su participación y comentarios sinceros son importantes y
apreciado.
El Distrito ha contratado a Coraggio Group para facilitar la evaluación. Coraggio Group trabajó con la Junta Escolar para desarrollar un proceso que se alinea con las mejores prácticas de la Asociación de Juntas Escolares de Oregón. Ese proceso incluye una encuesta en línea que será administrada por Coraggio Group.
