The Forest Grove School District has announced that Seth Jones, principal of Tom McCall Upper Elementary School, has accepted a job offer and will be leaving the district on March 19, 2021. We appreciate Seth’s leadership and the great work he has accomplished at Tom McCall and wish him the best in his next steps.
Assistant Superintendent John O’Neill has asked to serve as the Interim Principal of Tom McCall due to the timing of this vacancy and to support the students and staff with the transition to hybrid learning. Superintendent Parker has approved this request. Mr. O’Neill will serve in this capacity through the end of the school year in addition to his assigned duties as Assistant Superintendent. In the past, Mr. O’Neill has had previous experience serving as a middle school principal and has served as the former principal at Forest Grove High School.
When asked about this new opportunity Mr. O’Neill said, “I am looking forward to serving as Interim Principal and joining a great staff and positive school community. My own sons all attended Tom McCall. I am honored to help the students and staff through this current transition.”
Beginning in March, the district will begin the search process for a new principal for Tom McCall Upper Elementary for the 2021-2022 school year. We anticipate this will be a highly sought after position.
