Forest Grove School District Announces New Assistant Principal at Tom McCall Upper Elementary
(FOREST GROVE) – The Forest Grove School District (FGSD) is pleased to announce the hiring of Danyelle Thomas as the new Assistant Principal at Tom McCall Upper Elementary School. Mrs. Thomas will begin her new position on July 1, 2021.
“I am excited to join the team at Tom McCall, and the community in Forest Grove! As I think about my educational vocation, this feels like the right next step in my career, especially because of the way that the Forest Grove School District's commitment to ‘Care Deeply, Stand Strong, Adapt and Grow’ matches my personal educational leadership philosophy,” remarked Mrs. Thomas when asked how she felt after receiving the news of her job offer. “One particular part of the position that excites me is being a part of the Dual Language program. I am looking forward to getting to know people in the community and serving students, their families and our staff as we grow together. I also feel very excited about raising my family in this tight-knit community.”
Prior to taking the position at Tom McCall, Mrs. Thomas has been teaching language arts, social studies and has served as the TAG coordinator at Judson Middle School in the Salem Keizer School District. She also taught dual language social studies and Spanish at Walker Middle school and served as the Instructional Mentor at Valley Inquiry Charter School. Prior to her time at Salem Keizer, Mrs. Thomas was the Secondary Humanities Department Head, taught social studies and pre-kindergarten in Quito, Ecuador.
Mrs. Thomas received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Hispanic Studies and Political Science from Pacific Lutheran University and her Masters of Education from Moreland University.

El distrito escolar de Forest Grove anuncia una nueva subdirectora en la escuela primaria superior Tom McCall
(FOREST GROVE) - El Distrito Escolar de Forest Grove (FGSD) se complace en anunciar la contratación de Danyelle Thomas como la nueva subdirectora en la Escuela Primaria Superior Tom McCall. La Sra. Thomas comenzará su nuevo cargo el 1 de julio de 2021.
“¡Estoy emocionado de unirme al equipo de Tom McCall y a la comunidad de Forest Grove! Al pensar en mi vocación educativa, este se siente como el siguiente paso en mi carrera, especialmente por la forma en que el compromiso del Distrito Escolar de Forest Grove de 'Cuidar profundamente, mantenerse firme, adaptarse y crecer' coincide con mi filosofía personal de liderazgo educativo.” Comentó la Sra. Thomas cuando se le preguntó cómo se sentía después de recibir la noticia de su oferta de trabajo. “Una parte en particular del puesto que me emociona es ser parte del programa de Lenguaje Dual. Espero conocer a las personas de la comunidad y servir a los estudiantes, sus familias y nuestro personal mientras vamos creciendo juntos. También me siento muy emocionado de criar a mi familia en esta comunidad unida ".
Antes de aceptar el puesto en Tom McCall, la Sra. Thomas ha estado enseñando artes del lenguaje, estudios sociales y se ha desempeñado como coordinadora de TAG en Judson Middle School en el distrito escolar de Salem Keizer. También enseñó estudios sociales en dos idiomas y español en la escuela secundaria Walker y la mentora de instrucción en la escuela charter Valley Inquiry. Antes de su tiempo en Salem Keizer, Thomas fue Jefa del Departamento de Humanidades de Secundaria, enseñó estudios sociales y pre-kindergarten en Quito, Ecuador.
La Sra. Thomas recibió su Licenciatura en Estudios Hispanos y Ciencias Políticas de Pacific Lutheran University y su Maestría en Educación de Moreland University.
